WoW YouTube Videos - Girlfriends Gone Wild
The WoW YouTube Videos of the pissed-off, forgotten girlfriends of World of Warcraft addicted guys deleting their boyfriends' WoW characters have flooded the internet lately. Do NOT be like these girls. There ARE other options, I promise you.
If you are sick of your boyfriend, (or girlfriend... girls play WoW, or so I've heard), ignoring you and spending more time playing World of Warcraft than you working AND sleeping, stop and take a deep breath before you do something rash. If you WANT to break up, then I suppose deleting your boyfriend's character is a great way to get the ball rolling. But assuming your intent is just to piss him off a little and maybe to make him realize he needs to spend more time with you, you need to consider other options. Take a time out and assess the situation a bit more before taking drastic, irreversible action.
Sure the WoW YouTube Videos are entertaining, but TRUST ME, they aren't so funny when it's happening TO YOU. Show some compassion for your significant other and take into account that most people with gaming, (or other), addictions are trying to escape something. Many people with addictions are trying to get out of doing something in their real lives. Is he trying to escape from something? Is that something you? Are you really sure that this is the healthier relationship for both of you?
If you're certain that you're doing everything right and that the only cause of trouble is his constant gaming, then confront him. Ask him to explain the game to you. Maybe you can even TRY playing WoW yourself, but be forewarned, you're likely to get called a noob pretty often at first. After all, I can't think of a much better way to spend your time together than playing WoW. Maybe you can join WAA, (WoW Addicts Anonymous), together.
