Play Your Favorite Nintendo Games On Your PC Free
This article is aimed at teaching how to play Nintendo Entertainment System games on their computers at home. We are going to take a look at some free-ware which you can download and use on your PC.
We all remember the days, not too long ago of playing games on the NES. The 8-bit video gaming console was introduced in 1984 and was in almost every home across the country. We took on the roles of Mario in Super Mario Bros. 3, or Link from the Legend of Zelda. We threw barrels in our journey as Donkey Kong. We even had the chance to fight against Mike Tyson in the most popular boxing game of its time, Mike Tyson’s Punch Out! Sometimes we played all day, and all night trying to advance to that next level, or get the highest score. Most of us really miss the early days of gaming. This system is what most of us grew up on. The video gaming industry has progressed onto things so advanced most of us would have never thought possible in the early days of video game consoles. Now a-days the games have much better graphics, realistic sound effects, are more fun and have more complex controllers. That doesn’t mean however that we want to forget about our old past time favorites. Why should we?
I have great new for you! There is freeware available for us to download called an NES EMULATOR. This emulator allows you to play you NES roms on your computer. This download is free and available to anyone with a Windows operating system. Now that you have the emulator in place you will need to download the NES games to play. These game files are called NES ROMS . There are a ton of these roms available, and you can download most of them for Free. With these free downloads, you’re getting perhaps thousands of dollars’ worth of Nintendo Entertainment System gaming for nothing. All of these files are relatively small, but can add up if you download hundreds of roms. I'm not exactly sure of the system requirements, but just about any PC will work. Each time you download a new rom make sure you insert it into the same folder as your NES emulator. All of the game titles will be labeled accordingly.
Ideally you'd like to play your games with a NES PC compatible controller. Of course you can use your keyboard, but it is a major drawback taking away all of the fun. There is an aftermarket NES USB controller available from PC GAMES CONTROLLERS that you can plug into any USB port of your computer. Being equipped properly makes things 100 times easier. We wouldn't use a hacksaw to pound a nail, so we don't prefer our keyboards for gaming.
You are now equipped with all of the necessary info to begin you new era of NES gaming. Sit back, relax, and get ready for hours and hours of non-stop video gaming entertainment for the entire family.
