Frequently Asked Questions...
Can i install windows xp and ubuntu on same partition?
I have windows xp installed on my computer and i want to install ubuntu using wubi. I hav lots of important data on my hard disk and i dont want to make a new partition. Can i install ubuntu in the same partition as windows?
Answer:
Yes you can. The wubi installer will create a file in the directory c:ubuntudisks. This file (root.disk) is treated like a hard disk by Ubuntu and it will install the entire operating system inside this file. You must have a minimum of 5GB free.
Wubi will also add an entry to the Windows boot menu which allows you to choose between booting into XP or Ubuntu.
