Frequently Asked Questions...
How can I become a decent Street Fighter player?
I love the Street Fighter series and know a lot information about the series but have only been playing for six years. I have a small collection of Street Fighter games for a variety of systems including Super Street Fighter IV for 360(I don't have Xbox live). After playing the game for some time I realized that I suck at SSFIV. What are some things that I should do in order to become a better Street Fighter player? Not just with SSFIV but with all Street Fighter games?
Answer:
Master the basics first: move priority, safe and unsafe attacks, anti-air, footies, safe jumps and empty jumps, cross-ups, zoning, cornering, wake-up game, etc. This knowledge will take time to learn and master, but applies to all characters.
Also patience is key. Know when to keep pressure on your opponent and when to bring your opponent to you. If you find yourself getting angry and rushing brashly into your opponent's traps, take a deep breath and remember patience. Reset the spacing and get away from them. If you sense your opponent getting frustrated and attacking frantically, wait for an opening and punish them when they whiff an unsafe move (such as Ken throwing an unwarranted Shoyuken, this offers you a free combo on him right when he lands)
There's no set style of play for different characters but there's usually a general strategy attached to each. Characters will fall into a couple of categories: Zone, rush-down, turtle, grappler, poking, technical, projectile, fundamental. Play to each characters strengths. Are you using Dhalsim, play keep away and force your opponent to find a way to you. Using Zangeif? Put his health to use and dare your opponent to keep you away. Guile? The ultimate wall, lure your opponent to you and punish them with hard hitting moves.
Learn your main characters bread and butter (just search a character and "bnb") combos and practice. They should be second nature to you so you can unleash them at the opportune time.
Finally I would say get involved in the community: visit forums, watch competition videos, read character guides, and find a friend who's better than you and play them relentlessly.

In order to throw a hadouken in Street Fighter, you must be in battle against another opponent. There is a very simple button combo that you must input to do a hadouken. It is: Down, Down-Forward, Forward + Punch. So, in other words, starting from down, quarter-circle forward + Punch. A light punch will throw a slow hadouken, a medium punch will throw a medium-paced hadouken, and a heavy punch will throw a fast-paced hadouken.Nice enjoy!
