,you might be disappointed. The Wii is still a big seller, and the Nintendo Wii console is the top selling console. There's still no reason for retailers to lower their prices while demand is so high. But that's for major retail stores - not for all sellers! You can find a good deal, though, if you know where to look.
If you've been shopping around, you'll know that the base Nintendo Wii price can still run in the range of $300 to $350 range. This is for a console by itself with a single controller, and no additional games. Buying this bare-bones system will at least get you the console, and you can rent games if you are trying to keep your spend amount low. Yet you can find online deals lower than that price.
Wii prices for consoles with additional accessories are higher, of course. For a two player Wii bundle, which includes two controllers and two nunchuk accessories, prices can push $500. Keep in mind though that a second controller and nunchuk accessory will cost about $60 (plus tax) at retail; in addition to these two player systems usually come with games like Wii Play, Wii Sports, and possibly some others. A good price for this Wii system would be in the $450 range.
Mostly, if you are looking at retail stores for these Wii console systems, you won't find these prices. The prices will be much higher. Retail stores have little incentive to discount prices, since they can barely keep these Wii consoles on their shelves even at full retail price. Similar to the situation during the holiday season, inventory at retail stores continues to be low, and prices high. If you are trying to get good Wii prices, your best bet is still to shop online at stores and auction sites.
The highest prices are for Wii bundles that include up to four controllers, four nunchuk attachments, and anywhere from two to five games or more. The prices are higher, but you're getting a lot more for your money. Purchasing all of these pieces as part of a Wii bundle could save you 20% or more over at the retail price for the individual accessories bought separately.
Take for example the Wii prices for Madden NFL 2009 Wii bundle. This bundle includes the popular football game, four controllers, a Wii console, and several additional games that are sports related. Prices for this type of bundle on eBay are about $400 on auction sites as of this writing. Yet a Wii bundle like this is rarely if ever even available at any retail stores. You can only find it online, and if you shop in auction site like eBay, you can actually get a pretty good price.
The prices for Wii bundles and all variety of console systems across the board are going to be lower online. Prices will be especially affordable if you shot the auction sites and did for the best price or simply scan the volume of sales available at auction. Wth so many deals online, the best Nintendo Wii price is really within reach for all buyers, even on a budget.
